This was one of the records I often listened to before coming to Israel. It seemed such a romantic magic place. 56 years ago it was a country with high idealistic values. A place to grow as human being and to build the land. Today 2024 unfortunately I feel very sad for how religious extremist have destroyed this beautiful promise.

i would love to have this antholgy but for some reason i can't seem to find it.

As a Jewish woman (80 years old), I had this album in high school and listened often. I was a choral singer for most of my life, always loved and sang songs from everywhere in the world. Listening here and now, I realize that Theo Bikel was a solid foundation of my Jewish pride and connection to Israel. The songs and Mr. Bikel are truly a priceless treasure. Am Yisrael Chai! 🎶 🔯
